Here are a mixture of questions we have received over the years, hopefully we’ve covered all of them.  If you have any questions not answered here, please contact Ashley or Louise on: 0444 550 072

Ages?
We have people there from the age of 5 – 80yo.
The only age limit is for Competition, where they need to be 10yo to compete.
All ages train at the same time.  That way the more experienced help the new people and everybody learns.

What’s the deal for signing up?
Fill in a Membership form.  The club policy is we allow the first two nights as a trial, to see if people want to commit to the training program. Once they decide they are committed and purchase Membership, we have a no-refund policy as we have overheads to meet and insurance requirements.

Membership fee each year of $30 kids/$70 adults.
Then discounted rate for Members is $2 kids/$5 adults per class.
$20 per class for casuals (no membership, still have to fill in forms)

I was just wondering how much is membership?
No booking times- just turn up.
Cost is $2 per child 5-14yo. $5 per teenager or adult.
Yearly Membership (Jan-Dec) fee is $30 per child and $70 per teenager or adult.
$20 per class for casuals (no membership, still have to fill in forms)

I would like to try the boxing training!  Do I just show up on days I am able to make it?
Yes, there’s no need to book.  Make sure you wear shoes, bring a towel and water bottle.

What happens?
We start off with skipping, then fitness circuits – everyone works out to their ability.
Then learning to Box for Self Defence, or Competition, or general knowledge; which is footwork and boxing technique, then optional sparring for those that have a few months of training.  – we recommend everyone watch to learn.

We suggest that Boxing is 90% fitness and 10% technique, which go hand in hand.
There are people with all levels of ability, ages, races and genders at each session.

Boxing Training will build confidence, self-esteem, ability to defend themselves, self-discipline, respect for themselves and others.  Teaches commitment, work ethic, social interaction and a healthy way of life.

I enjoy boxing but I have only just injured my knee and will require surgery, so wondering if there is still ability to come to classes and only focus on core and upper body strengthening?

We want to lose weight for our Wedding.
Yes, please talk to Ashley at your next training session.  Boxing training in both the fitness circuits and technique is a great way to achieve weight loss.

The boxing technique helps to build co-ordination, speed, strength, fitness, self confidence, awareness of body and is an all-body conditioning program.  Because aerobic exercise uses all of the muscles of your body.

On average, 10 months is a good timeline to achieve a good fitness level for boxing and noticeable weight loss.

Do I need to gain or lose weight to compete as a Boxer?
No, quite often as you do your training, your body will settle into a weight that is right for your body. Remember that as you lose fat, you will put on muscle which is heavier.

Your body size and shape is dependent on many factors – including Genetics (what do your siblings, parents, grandparents, etc look like?); Exercise, as well as Food amounts and types.
